Cuverville Island

Friday 21st November

After the zodiac tour there was a quick 45 minute turnaround before we landed on Cuverville Island. A quick lunch then kit up again ready to go.

A different landing again today on a beach that was large stones to get across. There were walks to the left and right which led to Gentoo penguin rookeries in both directions or there was a steep climb to the top of the hill for views over the bay and also penguins.  I opted for the climb up.

As we were the last group of the day the path had gone a bit slushy which made the ascent more tricky, but the view was worth it.

Again there were gentoo penguins in all directions, including one of the rookeries right at the top. A penguin left the nest to go down to the shore and it was so fun to watch it slide down on it's tummy.
